Isaiah 43:18-19; Genesis 12:1-4

Introduction

Whenever we go through a transition, a change occurs in our lives. Moving from high school graduation to college, or from singleness to marriage, or from being married to having kids are major transitions. Not all transitions are good; some are challenging and difficult. One thing we know for certain is that we will all experience transitions.

The way we persevere through transitions is by trusting the Lord and His Word instead of our own understanding (Prov 3:5-6). Often, the devil waits until we are weak, vulnerable, and at our lowest point to tempt us and make us doubt God. But the devil cannot make us do anything. We must decide to choose right or wrong. Like Abraham, we need to be obedient to the voice and will of the Lord (Gen12:4). God’s will for our lives is not for our benefit alone. God blesses us to be a blessing to others.

What God puts in us, He will make manifest in our lives. Wherever you are right now is not the final place God intends for you to be. God’s calling for your life will take through transitions that move you from place to place. The journey begins with redemption. Once you are saved, then you can be a disciple unleashed to take the gospel to others.
