Remembering our First Lady, Dr. Lois Evans, December 1, 1949 - December 30, 2019

Thank you for loving the Evans family, and thank you for your ongoing prayers.

We absolutely adored our First Lady, Dr. Lois Evans. To our church family, she was a loyal friend, a devoted sister, a wise mentor, and a spiritual mother. She was our example of faithfulness and obedience to God’s Word and His ministry. Our collection of photos doesn’t come close to conveying the full impact Sister Evans had on the life of our ministry.

Feel free share your thoughts, prayers, and love below.
Thank you for your prayers.

    Hello Mrs. Evans, I want to share this testimony with you in regards to healing. I know at this time you may have received so many opinions and suggestions. But I want to provide you with the only breakthrough I have found to be inspiring; which is Jesus. Through my trials and suffering, I realized there is only ONE who can delivery me and that is the King of Kings and the LORD of EVERYTHING.

    I admire your strength in the fight, and your perseverance of this race, so let me encourage you some more if you please.

    You are a cook from what I can gather and you realize there are a purpose and reason for all seasons. I believe as a cook myself the LORD is prompting you to allow Elohim to draw out of your creative gift of (cooking) to interject a healing ingredient which you have hidden in your heart.

    Now that we realize what can harm the temple, lets us with the great wisdom of the bible change our cooking habits to a wonderful seasonal habit. At first, was thinking “oh man” all the good food are out and now I am subject to blend. But if you are anything like me I love all types of spices, and I love to experiment with different types of herbs. And with the grace and wisdom of the Lord, I have able to create dishes which are healthy and wonderful at the same time. I have been able to create soups made for a king, just ask my husband. I have been told by him on several occasion; quote “dinner was wonderful” and will go back for seconds I may add.

    As we prepare a meal we are creating a masterpiece; with the ingredient for healing. So open your mind, and heart, to different ways to prepare a meal and change the health not only for you but for the entire generation of your family and nation. We have to stay Kingdom-minded and I believe this is where the LORD is directing your path.

    When the enemy tried to prompt me that I have congestive heart failure I said “NO, I have a new heart” and I have not finished the race and I have so much more to do for the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore I fought back and said when Jesus said it is time, I will know it is time because HE will have prompted me before time.

    So I am saying this to say to you I love when I see you appear at church with a smile on your face and strength in your eyes. You will continue to fight because this is not your appointed time, and the LORD has so much for you to give to young ladies such as myself.

    So change the diet and become creative in your journey. When Elohim created you, HE placed a cooking tool with the right ingredient for HIS Kingdom. Just as Paul said when the serpent attempted to conquer him and other were looking and waiting for his death, he simply stated: “my time is not at hand, I have not finished the race.”

    And therefore, we must tell our self that each time the enemy tries to interject his false lies, and also we must keep only positive individuals in our environment. At a time as this, we need victory speaking and not victim speaking. We need encouraging words from the Kingdom of heaven. Because of my several encounters with death, we all have an appointed time, and I don’t believe you have finished your race. Keep strong my sister, and continue to PRAY, FAST, and PRAISE. Fasting cleanses the body, and I believe this is the reason why our Lord has instructed us to Fast. Elohim created our bodies therefore only the designer knows how to heal it of all contaminants waste. So keep looking to the hills and know HE is right there smiling and providing you with the wisdom and strength you need to endure; just continue to keep a positive clean and an open mind.

    When I was going through the healing process, HE had me in the Book of Luke, and I was wondering why I knew there was a reason but at the time before my illness did not see the outcome. It was to strengthen me for the journey I was going to face. This what I gather from the book of Luke, “Although Luke was a physician, I was amazed by how Jesus elected Luke a physician to write about HIM so we can understand during our time of testing; He wants us to never forget without a doubt that HE is the only ONE who takes away our disease, and heals us of all physical and emotional issues, at the name of Jesus; the only true and wonderful Savior, and Counselor.

    In my conclusion Mrs. Evans, I would like to share with you a few individuals who the LORD allowed their wisdom to bless me with HIS seasoning.

    The Maker’s Diet by Jordan Rubin who was also told by the doctor there was not a cure, and Josh Axe “who also is a wonderful seed the LORD allowed to cross my path” was inspired by the principles of Jordan Rubin “Maker’s Diet” when his mother was facing a life-threatening the disease of breast cancer. He shares how his testimony on the following link http://www.destinyimage.com. I am grateful the LORD brought these two individuals across my path, to allow me to understand HE has given us the resources all we need to do is utilize them. And the Bible is the greatest resource of them all; there are so many cures for illness we are so unaware of. These two individual I just mentioned are a biblical based and strong believer of the LORD.

    Just because the doctor said no cure, Jesus said HE is the cure and will provide you with wisdom to deliver you. Remember the women with the issue of blood, all she did was believe, stay strong and don’t doubt just believe. And when those thoughts try to enter your head, call on Jesus and HE will give you a song for encouragement.

    The Holy Spirit prompted me to reach out to you, and when I observed your contact information in the bulletin on Sunday I had to share the gift the Father has provided to me with my sister. We are not of this world’s kingdom but of the Father Kingdom with heavenly wisdom

    I hope this reaches you and provide you with the strength and comfort you on your testimony journey, and as you clean your closet from old material; do not allow negative figures to embrace your territory. Keep your environment surrounded by positive and beautiful thoughts.

    Love always, Your Sister in Christ.

    For A Season
    For reasons we may never understand
    Our Lord sends friends, but for a season.
    Reminders of the times we have shared
    And memories of days when love gave reason.
    So many things I wanted to say to you,
    Even when I could talk with ease
    And words could flow, much was left unsaid.
    Surely, our Lord knows best and will give us peace.
    Our friendship has meant so much to me but,
    Now time moves on and faintly leaves its trail
    And who’s to say that our paths won’t cross over the years,
    But one thing I know for sure, that is God’s love will never fail.

    I can remember us spending time in the Family Life Center in our Women’s Groups. It was great with Ms Anne Mercer and Sis Hawkins, Liz and all the beautiful ladies of OCBF. I pray for your healing because you aren’t just my first lady but my friend. I love you and so dearly want full restoration of your health.

      Sister Lois,

      “The Lord reigns, He is robed in majesty;
      the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength.”
      Psalm 93:1

      The Lord is all powerful and He is greater than anything that may come your way.
      I trust Him to carry you through. I am praying and expecting God to move on your behalf. Be encouraged and have a blessed day in Him.

      Love to all,

    My testimony is August of 2012 I was diagnosed with HPV. By the next visit I found out I had the cells of cancer. The good news is my cancer cells cleared up first and about 5 years later I found out I was HPV free. 6 years ago diagnosed and 6 years ago in November became an official member of OCBF. Love you Mrs. Evans.

    • Ellie Washington says:

      Psalm 40: 1- 5

      “I waited patiently for the Lord;
      And He inclined to me,
      And heard my cry.
      He also brought me up out of a
      horrible pit,
      Out of the miry clay,
      And set my feet upon a rock,
      And established my steps.
      He has put a new song in my mouth —–
      Praise to our God;
      Many will see it and fear,
      And will trust in the LORD.

      Blessed is that man who makes the
      the Lord his trust,
      And does not respect the proud, nor
      such as turn aside to lies.
      Many, O LORD my God, are your
      wonderful works
      Which You have done;
      And Your thoughts toward us
      Cannot be recounted to You in order;
      If I would declare and speak of them,
      They are more than can be numbered.”

      Sister Lois,
      God bless and keep you and yours in His tender loving care. I pray your strength in the Lord. Be encouraged and keep on singing.
      God is your song.
      He hears your cry even when you cannot mouth the words because He knows your heart. Look only unto Him, the only wise God our Savior. He is with you every second of the day and night.
      Be blessed and may God grant you a very beautiful, restful, and joyful day. Remember that you are not alone. You, Pastor, the children, and your family are constantly in my prayers. May God richly bless you now and always.

      Love to all,
      Sister Ellie

  • Good morning Pastor and Minister Lois Evans. I agree to stand in prayer with the OCBF and Evans’ family. I know what it is like to be in God’s waiting room. 3 years ago this past May, I was driving in to work on a short stretch of highway. As I was conversating with my mom on my a.m. commute, I lost awareness, yet I was still driving. I was having a Partial seizure (unaware of what I was doing yet still functioning). I KNOW that Jesus literally took the wheel that day as I drove for another 10 miles, swerving along the lines, but not crashing until almost 15 to 20 minutes later. I had never had seizures prior to this incident but was diagnosed several years earlier with Chiari 1 malformation (hindpart of my brain was pressing down on my spinal cord because there wasn’t enough room at the skull base). I had surgery December 1 2016 and I didn’t know (going in) if I would make it. I told my husband (a man of God) that if I did not come out, it was okay because I knew my Finally destination. However the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said (just before I went into surgery), ‘You will Live because there is Still a work you must do’. I say to you Sister Lois, Dr. Evans, Evans family and OCBFC, Sis Evans WILL COME THROUGH this because there is STILL a Work that she must do for God’s Kingdom on THIS SIDE on Eternity! We speak Life, Liberty and Healing in The name of Jesus Hamushia! We send Blessings, prayers and greetings from Beaumont Texas. We had the opportunity to visit this past Sunday and considered everything a Blessing ( from parking attendants to greeters to worship and praise to The Word by your son Johnathan). Thank you ALL for Continuing in being a Blessing to The Body of Christ! GGT (God’s Got This)

  • Janice Epps says:

    Father, thank You for Your Word which will not return void. Your Word says in John 15:7 that if we abide in You and Your Word abides in us and continues to live in our hearts, then we can ask whatever we will, and it will be done for us. We have asked for our First Lady Sister Evans healing of any cancer and I believe it is done, in Jesus Name, Anen.

  • Ebony says:

    I am praying for you Mrs. Evans. I am praying for you and your entire family. I pray that God will strengthen you in his joy. Because the joy of the Lord is our strength. I pray for your days to be filled with laughter. As we know laughter is medicine to the soul.
    Sending you, Dr. Evans and your family multiplied grace, peace and blessings.

  • Ellie Washington says:

    Good morning Sister Evans,

    I prayed special prayers for you and your dear family this morning. As God encouraged my heart with the following scriptures, I was lead by the Holy Spirit to share them with you. It is my prayer that you will also be blessed and encouraged by the Word of the Lord.
    I Chronicles 28:20
    Be strong and courageous. . .Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you.
    Psalm 85:9
    For sure His saving power is near those who fear Him, so His shining greatness may live in the land.
    Psalm 85:12a
    Yes, the Lord will give what is good.

    Isaiah 40:28-30
    Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding.
    He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
    Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

    *Isaiah 40:31
    But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

    Wait, my Sister, wait upon the Lord God Almighty.

    Psalm 103:1-5

    Bless the Lord. O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
    Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits:
    Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
    Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving- kindness and tender mercies;
    Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

    God richly bless you and yours.
    Love and God’s peace to all of you.

  • Thomas Makil says:

    Mrs. Evans, I wanted to tell you that I am grateful for your kindness to me nearly 42 years ago. OCBF was meeting in the fellowship hall of a small Lutheran church, and you were the music director at that time. You encouraged me as a young person to play a trumpet solo for the worship service and even accompanied me on the piano. That song was “I Believe in Miracles”. To this day, that experience and your encouragement has been a premonition of God’s goodness. Praise the Lord, Oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and HEALS ALL your diseases (Psalm 103:2-3).
    In June of 2016, I left the doctor’s diagnosis of prostate cancer on the steps of OCBF’s altar with the confidence that active monitoring of the disease was the right course of action. I did this in faith since God had previously freed my body of the Hepatitis C virus with no permanent damage to my liver, several years earlier. In March of 2019, the MRI results indicate that there is no cancer. I believe in miracles!!
    My prayer for you: Jehovah Rapha (the Covenant-Keeping God who heals), You have blessed Pastor Evans with the unique ability to communicate the Word of God to Your people. I appeal Your decision to allow cancer to touch Mrs. Evans body. She is Pastor Evans’ ordained help-meet – she is an integral part of ministry to Your people from the Evans family. Pastor and Mrs. Evans are our example of the relationship Your Son has with His church (His bride). I believe that both of them have more years of ministry to Your people and for Your glory – their ministry race is not complete. Free Mrs. Evans’ body of cancer to allow Her influence on younger women for Your glory while sustaining Pastor Evans to proclaim Your Word with boldness to today’s decaying world. This prayer is submitted in the name of Your Son the Lord Jesus Christ who was the ultimate fulfillment of the promise You made to Your people of forgiving our sins and healing us of ALL our diseases. Amen.

  • Bill Arndt says:

    Dr Evans and the Urban Alternative have been miracle workers in my life. Over the last two years, through Dr Evans teaching, I have truly been able to make God the Lord of my life. I live in Florida and can’t make the meetings at Oak Cliff, but I listen every chance I get. I have been praying for Sister Lois and the family since I found out about the diagnosis. In my wildest dreams I can’t imagine the courage it takes to walk through what the family is encountering now. I will continue to pray knowing that God’s grace will flow to Sister Lois and the family. Thanks for all you do and the blessings you have been to my life.

    • Dr Gerald Goodwin says:

      Hello First lady Dr. Lois Evans I wanted to wish you an early happy Mother’s Day. I wanted to tell you how much of a joy it was to see you at church last Sunday May 5th. It was a blessing to see that bright smile on your face. Your presence was definitely felt and brought joy and strength to my family and I’m sure to the rest of our congregation as well. I was at both services on that Sunday and I want to jokingly say to you that your presence at the second service gave our pastor some extra boost because he put extra sauce on that sermon that wasn’t present in the first service sermon. He slayed that thing during the second service and I can just see how you give him strength and motivation. We will continue to be in prayer with you and stand in the gap for you as we trust that God has already ordained a healing.
      With Love
      Gerald & Jerica Goodwin
