Remembering our First Lady, Dr. Lois Evans, December 1, 1949 - December 30, 2019

Thank you for loving the Evans family, and thank you for your ongoing prayers.

We absolutely adored our First Lady, Dr. Lois Evans. To our church family, she was a loyal friend, a devoted sister, a wise mentor, and a spiritual mother. She was our example of faithfulness and obedience to God’s Word and His ministry. Our collection of photos doesn’t come close to conveying the full impact Sister Evans had on the life of our ministry.

Feel free share your thoughts, prayers, and love below.
Thank you for your prayers.

Sister Evans, my family and I continue to pray without ceasing morning, noon and night.❤️

    • Carol Anderson says:

Sister Evans, I want to encourage you and remind you that I’m praying for you. I am grateful for your committed years of service and the inspiration you provide us even now. We have seen in very tangible ways that God is ABLE to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can as or think through you. I am pleading the blood of Jesus over your life and your family too. Most recently, I have learned to have hope as Pastor Evans defined….Joyful expectation of the future. I take solace in knowing that I don’t have to have all of the answers or know what’s next, because God does… My job is to “trust God”…. He is a God who still gives good gifts…whatever we need… God’s Word provides comfort to my soul and peace of mind. I pray that the Holy Spirit reminds you of the precious promises that you have learned of His Word over the years. May “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” IIPeter1:2

  • Berunda P Culbertson says:

Father we enter into your gates with thanksgiving and onto your courts with praise. We’ re thankful to you and we bless your name. Lord we are fully persuaded that your will is made clear in your word, therefore Father we don’t need to ask if it is your will that your people be healed, we know it is your divine will for them to be made whole in their bodies, free from all sickness and disease.
Jesus himself bore our sins in his body and it is by his wounds that we receive health and healing. Lord you sent your word and healed all manner of sickness,
and the word says that all who came to Jesus were healed, and Lord we believe the prayer of faith will heal the one who is sick, so we join our faith and hope with the Evan’s family and declare that cancer is expelled and has to die at the name of Jesus and Lord we declare that Sister Lois Evans will live out all her days in divine health. God we believe you will satisfy her with long life. Father we are praying for wholeness and restoration of her entire body.God, we thank you that the Evans’ family are your people and belong to you and that you are in control of everything that happens. Thank you Lord that because of your compassion, you know what they’ve been through and what they’re going through right now. Please send the comfort of your holy spirit to bear them up during this time. Surround them with the people who love them and desire to see them prosper. We speak peace and hope to them Lord when they’re feeling hopeless.
And Lord we know that doctors can be a great blessing in the natural, but we know that you are the Great Physician, and you are able to do the supernatural when the natural meets its limits. Lord restore Sis Evans’ body to good health and forbid this affliction to return again. And Father, this is the confidence in which we stand, that where there are two, you are in the midst, and what we pray for you hear us, and if you hear us, then we shall see the answer for what we have asked. Please surround them with prayer warriors, and church elders, and great people of faith, people who are filled with your spirit, and believe in laying on of hands that brings about healing. Send out an army that will fervently fight for her and her total life prosperity. Lord we pray for Victory in this matter. By Jesus stripes she is healed.!!!.
We believe in miracles! God Thank you for miracles!!

    Sister Evans,
My husband and I have been encouraged for many years through you and your husband’s prayers and ministry. I am a chef by trade and have helped many people with terminal cancer. A plant-based diet will help you tremendously. We will continue praying for your healing in Jesus name.

  • Samaiyah says:

Exceedingly, abundantly, above all I could ask or think (Eph 3:20) is what comes to mind when I think about how God planted me under your leadership. Your one of a kind, world renowned exegesis, pure genius and Devine revelation demonstrated when you teach/preach is a gift of which I am deeply appreciative. The application of scripture and biblical principles has given me peace and an inexplicable joy in the most adverse circumstances. A Prayer Closet, Solemn Assembly and community were once foreign concepts, but have now become part of my journey. It was Mother’s Day 2018 when Lois Evans, the personification of grace and embodiment of class quoted Job 22:28 Thou shall decree a thing and it shall be established. I decree that you are restored to health. We (OCBF) believe the report of the Lord, not the doctors. We haven’t stopped fighting for you neither have the angels. I decree that OCBF is full of radical, free worshippers who exert our God given authority. I give you both much honor while giving God all the glory.
    Deepest gratitude,
    Samaiyah

We both love you and Pastor Evan’s, and will continue to pray for healing.

  • Velma P Becks says:

As I was searching my messages in my email I saw an email that asked for prayers for Sister Evans and as I prayed I saw an angel that stands over her even when she is in pain. Tell God how you feel when you are in pain he was wounded for our transgressions. He is the balm of Gilead to your pain. Healing IS the children’s bread. Eat the bread of healing even in your affliction. Pray til you can’t no more. Goodness and Mercy are with you daughter of the Most High God as He promised. I pray God strikes the bow of your pain. He is your defense Woman of God. His role as our father is to come and sup with us . I have had this experience with my own family members and know what God gives us is no mistake. He is the only wise God he is strengthening you even now. I declare and decree that he continue to be a saving defense your refuge according to psalm 28. May God sing over you daily and be your shade from the heat that comes to cause you pressure of discomfort in Jesus Name. I pray that God covers you and all is well even with your children and grandchildren we need you and thank your family for the vision and provision he has given you. Your ministry has been a safe haven for me in my dry moments and I know Dr Evans is a true angel of God as well as his family and ministry. God will and is imparting energy to your heart psalm73:26 by being your continuous strength. You are loved beloved and needed. God who is your dwelling place is fighting for you and your family. Heaven is fighting for the believer. Be encouraged and strengthened. May peace rest on you and in you in Jesus Name. God Bless you Daughter of Zion.

  • Jeannette C says:

I don’t have the pleasure of knowing you personally or your family, but I was first blessed by listening to your beautiful daughter Priscilla at a women’s conference in LA many years ago as a woman starting my faith in Jesus. I needed to know more about your family, and I found the Urban Alternative, and I can’t tell you what a blessing it has been to my life, now married with a child of my own. I may not know you, but I love you nonetheless, and I honor you for being the faithful woman you have been to your family. The proof is in the pudding they say, and in your case, it is. Your continued faithfulness and love towards your family, and ministry is a beautiful legacy that will never be forgotten. Thank you for the lesson you teach me daily without you knowing it. Thank you, Dr. Evans for your teachings! You’re invigorating, truthful, and so much fun to listen to! You are a blessed man of God, and I pray over your entire family! May the Lord place his healing hand on your First Lady, and may we all rejoice in her miraculous recovery!
The peace of God will surpass all of our human understanding in Christ Jesus!

Pastor Evans, Iam so sorry to hear about your wife, Lois. Iam praying that God will give her complete healing in her body right now, in the name of Jesus. God is able to do all and above what no man can do. So keep the faith, because better days are coming. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!!!

  • Lillian Logan says:

First Lady Lois I want to say that I’m praying that our Father will give you favor and raise you from the illness where you temporarily are no matter the condition we know that he has the power to change all things and we are going to beseech God’s mercy and continue our faith until he shows his face in this matter in the mighty name of Jesus. Your body may weaken but your spirit must stay strong. I don’t personally know you but my husband just this year survived another serious illness but we almost lost him but fervent prayer was my everything. It’s not over First Lady stay strong in Our Lord. I don’t know if you’ve tried fermented foods but it’s a game changer for the gut it’s good bacteria for the digestive and if you’re eating yogurt Greek plain yogurt with no sugar is the best it’s also fermented and Kefir milk this is how my husband with the power of Christ was healed with plenty of fresh veggies. I know you’re going to get better!!! God bless

Dear Dr. Lois Evans. I have been blessed to make many travels with you and Dr. Evans ministry. I learned many prayers and scriptures from you. You and your family have been an inspiration to my life for over 21 years. It started with Priscilla picking us up in college and bringing us to church each Sunday. You’ve given your children your sweet and loving spirit. Your example as a spiritual leader, a wife, a mother, and a child of Christ, is unmatched. We love you and pray for you daily. Many continued blessings for you and your family, and thank you for the example you have given me as woman. Love, Brandy Mickens

    Dear Sister Evans –

Just want to tell you that I love you. I also want you to know what an inspiration you are. Your love, courage, strength, grace, beauty, and faith are apparent and awesome. You are a true Proverbs 31 woman. What a blessing you are to our church, and your blessing to your family (our first family) is evident. On a personal level, you should know that Pastor Evans has been passing that blessing on to us, as his sermons have provided insight and strength that have been key in providing me with the courage and strength that I have needed to walk through a very difficult journey. May God bless and keep you, and THANK YOU for being faithful you.
