The Advanced Academic Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting advanced academic programs, including Advanced Placement (AP), dual enrollment, and other accelerated learning opportunities. The coordinator will work with students, teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure the successful implementation and operation of these programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct teacher training, student advisement, data analysis, and program evaluation.
  • Oversee the daily operations of advanced academic programs.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and administration of AP exams.
  • Manage dual enrollment partnerships with local colleges and universities..
  • Develop and update curriculum materials for advanced courses.
  • Support teachers in implementing best practices for advanced instruction.
  • Organize and conduct professional development workshops for faculty.
  • Advise students on course selection and academic planning.
  • Provide guidance on college admissions processes, including preparation for standardized tests.
  • Facilitate enrichment opportunities, such as academic competitions and summer programs.
  • Communicate program goals and expectations to parents and community stakeholders.
  • Organize informational sessions and workshops for parents.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to support advanced academic initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data on student performance and program effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports for school administration and external stakeholders.
  • Use data to make informed decisions about program improvements.
  • Ensure programs meet state and national standards for advanced academics.
  • Prepare for and participate in accreditation reviews.
  • Maintain records and documentation required for program compliance.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in advanced academic programs. Experience in curriculum development and teacher training. Experience with data analysis and program evaluation. Valid teaching certification. Additional certification in educational leadership or administration is preferred.
