Becoming a Member

We are excited that you are considering membership with the Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship family!

At the end of each Sunday morning service, an invitation to join our church is extended by one of the pastors. Individuals that are interested in membership will be directed to come to Room 8 at the end of the service. During that time, prospective members will complete paperwork and have the opportunity to ask questions about the membership process.

  • STEP 1

    Register for a virtual pre-membership class

    In the class, you will:

     

    • Learn about OCBF’s beliefs, ministry and philosophy,
    • Discover the importance of spiritual growth,
    • Receive a welcome and challenge from one of our Pastors.
  • STEP 2

    Complete Membership Materials

    To help you better understand us—and to help you on your spiritual journey—please complete the following materials before attending your chosen class.

    Complete the online assessment, print your results and bring with you to class

    Inventory Assessment

    Complete “Discovering Church Membership” (you’ll need your Bible)

    Complete the Lesson
  • STEP 3

    Attend Your Chosen Pre-Membership Class

    After registering, you will receive confirmation and details regarding the class for which you registered.

  • STEP 4

    Complete a visit with an OCBF Leader

    Once you complete steps 1-3, an OCBF Leader will reach out to you to schedule a visit.

  • STEP 5

    Receive the Right Hand of Fellowship

    Upon completion of steps 1-4, you will receive the Right Hand of Fellowship in a special ceremony.

Communion, prayer, praise and worship, giving, and biblical teaching are key components of our worship service each week.

Membership is required to volunteer in a ministry at OCBF.

Members who want to sign up for a ministry for the first time should go to Sign Up for a Volunteer Opportunity and follow the instructions. Or, you may call Membership Services at 214-672-9100, x9185 or email us at membership@ocbfchurch.org.

We ask that you serve in your ministry area for at least one year, and then you may change to a new ministry during Ministry Changeover Month. However, if you are requesting an immediate change, please contact Membership Services at 214-672-9185 or membership@ocbfchurch.org.
